Immune wellness is essential for general health and happiness. Your immune system serves as a guardian. It protects your body from pathogens that could harm you, such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites. It guards you against infections, inflammation, illness, and disease, all of which can be harmful. Don’t defeat that by doing things that can harm your immune system.

Boosting your immune health is critical if you want to protect yourself from illness and health problems. The good news is that eating an immunity-boosting diet and supplementing with immune-supporting nutrients can significantly improve your immunological health. But there is also things that we do that can harm it.

Amidst this worldwide pandemic, there is a great need for each of us to have a robust immune system; here are some key factors that you should be aware of that might weaken it.

The Importance of Having a Healthy Immune System

Not only for your health but also your survival, your immune system is critical. It’s a complicated network of cells and tissues in your body designed to keep you safe. They’re looking for intruders like bacteria, viruses, parasites, and other organisms that could harm your body. Your immune system will assault pathogens when they are detected, protecting you from getting sick. Your body is highly susceptible to attack or harm from these pathogens if your immune system is not protecting you.

It is the job of your immune system to keep you healthy. A weakened immune system becomes sluggish and unable to protect you effectively, leaving you prone to infections, illness, and disease.

5 Things That Harm Your Immune System

Here is a list of things you might want to be aware of if you wish to keep your immune system strong.

Sugar

When it comes to sugar, there are numerous issues. Sugar can harm your immune system, which is one of these issues. Sugar depletes your body of immune-boosting minerals like vitamin C, zinc, and glutathione, as well as feeding parasites in your body.

Sugar can also cause vitamin C deficiency. Dr. John Ely discovered the Glucose-Ascorbate-Antagonism in the 1970s and discovered that glucose (sugar) and vitamin C (ascorbate) share a chemical make-up that is remarkably similar. Insulin and its signals are required for both of them to enter your cells.

The issue is that glucose has a stronger affinity for vitamin C than vitamin C. This means that the more glucose in your system, the less vitamin C your cells can absorb. Because vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins for your immune system, the fact that sugar can negate its benefits is a significant worry.

Deprivation of Sleep

Regular, good-quality sleep is critical for immunological function and overall well-being. The only way your body can perform at an optimum level is if it is getting enough time to rest and repair. Not obtaining enough or good quality sleep on a regular basis might increase your stress response and disturb your body’s natural renewal cycle, weakening your immune system.

Every night, you need 7–9 hours of sleep to keep your immune system healthy. Sleep deprivation of fewer than 7 hours on a daily basis has been linked to an increase in chronic stress, inflammation, and immunological dysregulation in the body (6). Drinking Water from the Tap

The importance of hydration for immunological health cannot be overstated. However, the type of water you consume is important as well. Municipal water, unfortunately, is extremely hazardous to your body. Toxins such as chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, DBPs, and arsenic are abundant.

It is critical to have a competent water filtration system at home in order to obtain high-quality water. Drinking spring water is another alternative; however, try to avoid using plastic bottles as much as possible. The plastic may leach into the water you drink, causing irritation and other health problems. When you’re out and about or want the convenience of a water bottle, stainless steel and glass bottles are a safer bet.

Fresh air, vitamin D from the sun, and grounding are all things you’re missing out on. Instead, your indoor environment may contain indoor toxins such as mold or chemical toxins, both of which can affect your immune system.

On-Going Dehydration

Water is necessary for your overall health, especially your immune system. Consider this: your life began in water. After all, in the womb, you were surrounded by water. As an adult, you’re made up of 60% water. It’s no surprise, then, that your body requires adequate fluids to maintain a healthy immune system.

Many individuals just forget to drink enough water in our modern, hectic society. Caffeine, sugar, and alcohol consumption dehydrates the body even more. When you are chronically dehydrated, your body must draw water from various sections of your body. Headaches, chronic discomfort, constipation, weakened immune system, allergies, and a range of other health problems can result from this.
