A 2023 Systematic Review sought to determine the effectiveness of physical therapy for the management of temporomandibular disorders. The authors concluded that physical therapy could be considered as the first option in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders, noting both manual therapy and exercise interventions have been shown to reduce pain and improve joint function.
